Worship is the act of giving the praise and glory to God. It does not mean that we do not receive praise. When someone else praises us, it is not our responsibility. Our responsibility is to take the praise and to give it to God.

So if someone compliments us, we can say “Praise the Lord.”  Or we can say something like “Glory to God.”  We can redirect the praise and glory to God.

Someone came up to Jesus and said “Good master”, and Jesus said, “Why do you call me good. There is only one who is good and that is God.”  Even Jesus, who walked the earth as a man, redirected the praise and glory to God.

We have to be careful not to seek the praises of men, but to seek the praise of God. When comes the end of our life we want to hear the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
