Body of Christ

Jesus lived the perfect life without sin. He was born into the world without sin and He never sinned.  Having lived a life that was pleasing to God the Father, He gave His perfect life for the sins of mankind. He gave His life as a sacrifice.  He gave it willingly. He gave of his own accord.  No one made Him give His life. He did it freely.

In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus asked God the Father, “If there is another way, take this cup from me.” But there was no other way.  Jesus was the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world.

Jesus was the second Adam.

Because of Adam, the human race is not perfect. It is not in a state of perfection. It is not in a state of grace. That’s why Jesus said a person has to be born again in order to see the kingdom of God.  We are made one in Christ when we are born again. We still have the same bodies, but we are changed on the inside.  We are a new creation. We are of a new race – the race of Jesus Christ.  When we are born again, we are part of the family of God.

When Jesus Christ gave His life on Cross, He paid the price for sin.  Through the one man Adam, sin came into the world, and through the one man Jesus Christ, righteousness came into the world. Through Jesus, we are made right with God.

Now anyone who is born again is part of the body of Christ.  They are one spiritually. They are of the family of God. No longer does the veil of flesh separate them from others, but they’re one in the Lord. It is a spiritual unity.  It is a spiritual oneness.
